Summary: Mr.
Elephant is in quite a pickle. HIS BACK ITCHES! He can’t reach where it itches,
so he goes on a hunt to find someone that could scratch his back for him. He
bumps in to friends like Mr. Duck, Mr. Turtle, and even Mr. Mouse. No one can scratch
his back because of a variety of silly reasons. Mr. Crocodile just wants to eat
him and all Mr. Cricket does is jump all over him. Mr. Elephants itch is still
there. Will he ever find anyone to scratch his back?
Review: This book was a little funny. Mr.
Elephant’s reactions to certain animals that try to help are silly and the
illustrations really help add humor to the text. There are times where Mr.
Elephant is rude and a little mean. For adults, the book can have a lot of not
very nice messages. For children, it is a funny book with funny illustrations.
This book would definitely grab a little reader’s attention.
