Summary: The book is about a dog named Nipper, who loves sleeping, dreaming and dozing off. But most of all he loves his owner Richard. But he gets sad every day because Richard has to leave to go to work. One day Richard forgets his lunchbox and it is up to Nipper to go and give it to him. He goes through quite an adventure just to get to Richard but eventually with some help he makes it to Richard’s job.

Review: I really enjoyed this book, for anyone that has any pets, it is very easy to connect to the book. The book was funny, the illustration was great. The character they gave Nipper a very funny tone to him. Over all one of my favorite children’s books that I have read.

Rock What Ya Got

Rock What Ya Got

Summary: A child reminds everyone to embrace their own special something in this joyful expression of self-love. When a drawing of a little girl comes to life, she boldly declares that she doesn't want to be erased, or put into a picture that doesn't feel like her true self. Instead, she decides to speak up in a powerful way.

Review: With a catchy title and good message, I chose Rock What Ya Got by Samantha Berger to be December's Book of the Month. I liked how Viva didn't want to change despite her artist's thoughts at the beginning of the book. The rhyming text also made this book extra cute.

Messages of acceptance are always great for picture books and I thought this book was creative throughout using the perspective of a drawing and her artist. I could see using this book for a one-on-one discussion with a child about their self-esteem and it would also be beneficial for those little artists who tend to overly judge their work. For ages 4-7.

Summary: Have you ever wanted to be or help a Veterinarian? Come and help take care of all the different kinds of pets! Your little hands can help pet a cat or even feed a lizard! Be careful though because the lizards like to go CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!

Review: This book has colorful and interactive illustrations that make the book come to life! The rhythmic wording makes it hard not to participate with the book. It is my favorite to read during storytimes and kids love to participate. I really enjoyed this book and it has become one of my favorite!
