Review: From this hugely popular series comes a fun, familiar, and educational way to learn about vaccinations. This book is packed with a lot of information on the subject and takes the reader on a historical journey from the birth of vaccines to present day. At times, I thought this book had too much information on the subject, however, anyone who wants to gain more facts will appreciate every tidbit of information. This book will help younger readers understand why getting a vaccination is important for their health.

Review: I love finding good picture books that have valuable messages for kids. The Book of Mistakes by Corinna Luyken is one of these special books. Everyone makes mistakes and more importantly, a mistake isn't the end of the world and can sometimes spark something that isn't a mistake, such as in this wonderfully illustrated book.

This is a picture book that depends heavily on its illustrations to make its point. I find the pictures to be unique, artistic, and imaginative. I like how the words are so simple, yet artistic in itself. This book really shows children the point of how a mistake can be made into something better and beautiful. A good book for storytime and for discussing mistakes, as well as an incredibly helpful book for a child who struggles accepting mistakes.

Summary: The book is about a Chihuahua named Louie who has the perfect life with his owners. He is the center of attention. In the beginning of the book he is telling us how he wants to run away because he is not loved anymore. Slowly his perfect life started to change, he FELT that he was slowly losing the attention of his owners. He then realizes the horrifying reason behind his perfect life changing. His owners were preparing to replace him with a baby! They started buying two of everything. He couldn’t take the thought of having to deal with not only one baby but TWO! Once Louie the Chihuahua knows that he is being replaced, he plans to run away, but is caught by a neighbor. By that time it was time for the baby to come home. To Louie’s surprise once the baby got home it was only one and not two. The owners introduced the baby as his baby brother, and everything they were buying was for the baby and for Louie. At the end Louie was happy and in love with his baby brother and his new life.

Review: I really enjoyed this book, for anyone that has any pets, it is very easy to connect to the book. The book was funny, the illustration was great. The character they gave Louie was also perfect for a Chihuahua, having one myself I felt even a greater connection. Over all one of my favorite children’s books that I have read.

Summary: This book is a fun twist on the traditional Mother Goose nursery rhymes.  All the rhymes have a “motor” theme.  There is everything from cars to submarines, airplanes to trains, and garbage trucks to cranes.  The wonderful illustrations really give the vehicles personality. 

Review: Right under the title of the motor nursery rhyme or song is the title of the rhyme that the rhyme is based upon.  This book is fun to read/sing!  There is plenty to talk about with the cute colorful illustrations.

Summary: The Rockabye Baby! albums use the familiar songs parents love by their favorite artists and turn them into calming instrumental-only lullabies that are kid-friendly. They have more than 50 renditions to choose from including the Beatles, Beach Boys, Green Day, and Nirvana.

Review: Any Rockabye Baby! album would make a great addition to your child’s music collection. Parents get to enjoy their favorite songs by their favorite artists with their kids without having to worry about the music sounding too harsh or the lyrics being inappropriate, as it is all instrumental and transformed into a light, soothing lullaby. This is also a great way to introduce your child to your music and avoid some of the children’s music you can’t stand or heard a million times already. It’s also interesting to hear a song you love turned into a pretty lullaby. Some of my favorite Rockabye Baby! albums include their lullabies made from Journey, Elvis, and the Beach Boys.
