Summary: David is a high school student with a pretty normal life. Normal, that is, until he witnesses his girlfriend, Senna, being swallowed up by a massive wolf, and in his attempt to rescue her, he and three other kids are sucked into EverWorld after her. Then the adventure really begins. David, April, Christopher, and Jalil must escape from gods they’ve only heard about in ancient mythology as they try to find Senna (who may be a witch) and get back to the real world before it’s too late! Written for teenaged readers, this book is action-packed and filled with mythology from Aztec to Norse. Search for Senna is the exciting introduction to this series, which contains 12 books.

Review: If you’re looking for something to read after you’ve finished or outgrown the Percy Jackson books, then pick up this series! Even though the mythology mentioned in this book may not be entirely accurate, I still enjoyed the references. The characters are likeable, the story is fast-paced, and it leaves you excited to read book two in the series: Land of Loss. I’m actually going to go check it out right now!

Summary: The Pigeon is dirty and he needs a bath, but he won't go willingly.

Review: I love all of Mo Willems’ pigeon books so when I saw this as a new item, I quickly grabbed it. It’s such a relatable book for kids since most never want to take a bath! In the end, they end up having fun and loving it. This was a very cute and funny book that my kids and I loved!

Summary: Doug is off to visit his grandbots with his parents. Before they leave, his mother reminds him to plug in so he can learn about the countryside that they are passing through. However they get into a slight accident and Doug becomes unplugged. While the car is being fixed he decides to help on a farm and begins to experience things firsthand on a farm and enjoys every bit of it.

Review: This is a wonderful book that shows you can experience more when you are away from technology and go out an enjoy the outdoors. The illustrations are colorful and really portray the images of a farm well. There is a great message for kids and parents alike with this book and the importance of appreciating the outdoors and not always spending every moment connected to some form of technology. There is so much out in the world to discover so take the time to go outside and do it.

Included in the book are maps and photos to help understand the Pilgrims and their reasons for beginning a new life in an unknown and harsh new world.

Review: This is a great book for American History buffs, including teachers, parents, and students. It is an excellent time travel adventure as well as humorous, clever and informative.
